Mr. Rashidul Azad has the Masters of Public Health from James P Grant School of Public Health (BRAC University) and Bachelor’s in Statistics from Dhaka Univesity. He has more than 10 years of research experience in Maternal Child Health Division (MCHD) and Infectious Disease Division (IDD) at icddr,b in Bangladesh. He has also served as a consultant in UNDP Bangladesh. His experience includes in randomized control trials, cohort studies, population-based surveys, health facility surveys, and demographic surveillance. He has a long expertise in research design, research proposal development, data analysis, advanced statistical modeling, and manuscript writing.

Some of the mentionable research projects in which he worked are: a) Monitoring the progress and evaluating the impact of USAID’s 5 years Maternal and Newborn Care Strengthening Project (MaMoni-MNCSP) in the 10 programme districts in Bangladesh, b) Improving maternal nutrition service delivery including multiple micronutrient supplementation (MMS) through public ANC platforms: Baseline survey of cluster randomized control trial, c) Utilisation, knowledge, attitude and practices of zinc and ORS in the treatment of diarrhoea among 6 to 59 months old children: A baseline survey in 14 districts of Bangladesh, d) A cluster randomised controlled trial of cleaner cook-stoves to reduce adverse pregnancy outcomes in rural population of Bangladesh, e) A clustered randomized controlled trial (RCT) of the benefits of water sanitation hygiene plus nutrition interventions on child growth and development (WASH,B trial), etc.
