The House of Research and Development (HRD) is a dynamic and forward-thinking research firm dedicated to advancing knowledge, driving innovation, and creating real-world impact. Established in 2021, HRD is committed to conducting cutting-edge research and development projects in health systems of Bangladesh, with a strong focus on health economics, health financing and universal health coverage.

GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE OF HRD: The House of Research and Development (HRD) adheres to a robust governance structure, ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective management of its research endeavors. Established in 2021, HRD is a registered entity with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms, operating in accordance with the Company Act of 1994. This legal registration underscores our commitment to operating as a reputable and responsible research organization.

Board of Directors: HRD’s governance is overseen by a dedicated Board of Directors, consisting of six eminent individuals with extensive research experiences. These directors are currently affiliated with leading academic and research organizations in Bangladesh, contributing their vast knowledge and insights to guide HRD’s research activities. The board plays a crucial role in setting the strategic direction of the organization, ensuring that our research aligns with the highest standards of quality and ethical conduct.

Chairman and Vice Chairman: HRD is led by Chairman and Vice Chairman who provides leadership and guidance to the organization. The Chairman’s role includes chairing board meetings and representing HRD in external matters (e.g. donor relation).

Managing Director: The Managing Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of HRD. This includes overseeing research projects, managing resources, and ensuring that the organization operates efficiently.

Directors: Three additional Directors within the board take the lead in managing specific research projects. Their expertise and leadership drive the successful execution of research initiatives.

Supporting Teams: To facilitate the smooth operation of research projects and day-to-day management, HRD maintains dedicated teams. These include a finance team responsible for budgeting, financial management, and grant compliance. An HR team ensures that the organization is well-equipped with the right talent and support services. These teams work in tandem with the board and project leaders to enable HRD’s research efforts and maintain the highest standards of governance.
